Beautiful Things - The Mask Exhibition
I’ve thought long and hard about how to approach this post, and yet I’m still at a loss for words. The image above is now in The Mask group exhibition in ROME! (March 12-21) The night I got the email from LoosenArt saying it was selected was like an answer to prayer, and I’m continually amazed at how awesome God is and how incredibly perfect His timing is.
This image came from a place of seeing and knowing the true transformation that can be found when we’re willing to take off our masks with others. It’s in the removal of our masks that we can be seen and transformed, what was hidden in the darkness when we’re left spiraling in on ourselves and alone can become something truly beautiful when exposed to the light. It’s then we see how much we’ve grown and how far we’ve come, and how much God has done in us. And He is always faithful, even when pulling that mask off is painful and difficult.
Beautiful things happen when we take off our masks. My hope is that more of us are able to experience the joy of this type of authenticity, one without fear, in safe places with safe people. There’s a love that surrounds us and shows us not only who we really are, but also who we have the potential to be.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to create, the world that photography brings to life, and the chance to participate in The Mask Exhibition at Millepiani in Rome.
If you’re in the area, I’d love if you’d check out my piece and all the other wonderful artists. I wasn’t able to make the trip to Italy, so if you happen to be there I’d so appreciate if you could snap a photo or selfie with my image and share it with me: facebook.com/hopelightimages or @hopelightconceptual on Instagram.
