One Step At A Time
Do you struggle to find balance between multiple forms of creativity or many different creative projects?
This has been a huge struggle for me, and it's often lead to me not working on any of my projects well. My attention has been so split bouncing between different projects and seeking uncertainty about which ones are more important. Maybe you can relate.
This year, the saying, "You can do anything, but not everything." Has been really impressed on my mind.
I take it to mean, you can do anything you put your mind to, but you can't do it all at once.
So, baby steps. Taking it one step at a time, and intentionally choosing a focus project.
And that's exactly what I've done. This means intentionally showing up for certain things, and intentionally saying no to others.
That one's hard for me. It's difficult to set boundaries on things that are good that you want to engage with.
But setting a schedule has helped tremendously. It's slow and steady progress, and although I'm not doing everything I wish I could, and it's not coming together as quickly as my impatience would like, I am making progress.
This is the best form of balance I've found, taking all my different projects one step at a time.
